Traditional Reiki vs. New Age Reiki

In the “deep teachings” of the Okuden, the teaching methods can vary greatly depending on the evolution of the student. In traditional teaching, some of the practices were not taught, or were subtly changed to adapt to the level, preparation and skills of the students, without considering the effect of word of mouth over almost a hundred years of Reiki practice. The same thing goes for the direct methods of accessing energy: in some schools, shirushi and jumon are not taught in the form known in the West and spread by Hawayo Takata, but instead they teach direct methods to perceive / become the different aspects of energy and the deep meditative states underlying them, one of the purposes of the path traced by Mikao Usui. In some schools, it is also common to divide the Okuden into two parts, zenki and kouki, while in others, shirushi and jumon are taught over the course of several months and not in a single seminar. as in the method once structured by Chūjirō Hayashi and then by HawayoTakata.

During the advanced Level III courses, the following will be taught in the two-day course:

FIRST DAY

A quick recap of everything learned in levels I and II "Shoden" and "Chuden" is done, and the actual knowledge of all the techniques learned is verified (it is understood that since this is a very advanced level, preliminary to teaching, it is the exclusive prerogative of the Reiki Master to decide if and when the student is ready for this level. It will be almost impossible for one to show up at the Okuden course as happens for the other two.)

SECOND DAY

The fourth Shirushi and its Jumon will be taught along with direct methods for perceiving/becoming the different aspects of energy and the deep meditative states underlying them, one of the aims of the path traced by Mikao Usui.

Within the “deep teachings” of the Okuden, based on the evolution of the student, the teaching methods may vary greatly and in some cases it will be possible to introduce elements relating to the next level Shinpiden, only for those who are truly interested in continuing the path undertaken.
