Traditional Reiki vs. Reiki new age In the context of Okuden's "profound teachings", the methods of teaching can vary greatly according to the evolution of the student. In traditional teaching some of the practices were not taught, or subtly changed to suit the level, preparation and abilities of the students, without considering the effect of word of mouth over almost a hundred years of Reiki practice. The same goes for direct access to energy: in some schools shirushi and jumon are not taught in the form known in the West and popularized by Hawayo Takata, instead teaching direct methods to perceive / become the different aspects of energy and the deep meditative states underlying them, one of the purposes of the path traced by Mikao Usui. In some schools it is also customary to divide Okuden into two parts zenki and kouki, while in others shirushi and jumon are taught over several months and not in a single seminar. as in the method once structured by Chūjirō Hayashi and then by HawayoTakata.
The Chuden level as created by Mikao Usui himself, allows the student to have tools and activations during a single seminar, being always possible (for those who really want it) to practice directly, follow the activities of the Dojo, or continue in precisely the study and experience of the discipline towards ever deeper/higher levels, linked to the normal progress of the spiritual path. During the first teachings of the II Level, the two days of the course will be taught: FIRST DAY Brief summary of the contents of the First Level of Reiki The Techniques: Hatsurei ho: -or Technique for the creation of spiritual energy an articulated practice composed of several techniques probably assembled after the death of Mikao Usui: 1) Gassho, 2) Gyosei, 3) Mokunen, 4) Kenyoku, 5) Joshin kokyu-ho, 6) Gassho Meiso, 7) Seishin Toitsu during which Reiju dai was practiced Masters, 8) Gokai SanshoMokunen: the intent, a clear affirmation of the practice that one is about to do.Seishin Toitsu deep state of meditative absorption.Teate Chiryo ho – Reiki emanation through the hands, which remain still on the part to be treated, as in the "classic" Reiki treatment practiced and taught by Hayashi and Takata. But Reiki can be transmitted with the hands moving as in the techniques of: Nadete Chiryo ho – hand rubbing technique Oshite Chiryo ho – fingertip pressing technique Uchite Chiryo ho – hand clapping technique Of the latter three different ways of using the hands with respect to simple touch there are reminiscences in the treatment taught by Takata in some different "closures" of the treatment which include rubbing on the back and limbs or in the all western techniques of "stroking the aura". The three techniques of Nadete, Oshite and Uchite are all used specifically in Koketsu-ho, the Blood Exchange Technique. And Reiki can be emanated not only from the hands as Mikao Usui himself also states in Hikkei “The reason is because Ki and light emanate from the healer's body, especially from the eyes, mouth and hands. So if the healer looks or breathes or touches the diseased part with his hands such as toothache, colicky pain, stomachache, neuralgia, scratch, cut, burn or swelling, the pain will go away.” And so we have the techniques of: Gyoshi ho - technique that allows you to emanate Reiki through the gaze Kokyu ho - technique that allows you to emanate Reiki through the breath Hara (Tanden) Chiryo ho - hara treatment technique similar to Gedoku Gedoku Chiryo ho - Technique for detoxification from poisons (both physical and mental / emotional). Hesso Chiryo ho – treatment technique through the navel Genetsu ho – a technique that allows to bring down the fever
SECOND DAY The Techniques: Byosen Reikan ho – perception through a scan of the body of the different degrees of intensity of the imbalances in the body/mind of the treatise: 1) On-Netsu - Hot 2) Atsui On-Netsu - Intense Hot 3) Piri-Piri -Kan 4) Hibiki 5) Itami. The correct perception of imbalances was a prerequisite for access to the higher stages of practice. Reiji ho - A very advanced technique where the treatment is based on the practitioner's deep intuition, and the hands are guided by Reiki to the "right" points ”. Takata wrote in his diaries in 1936: “What was more than pleasing was that Mr Hayashi has granted to bestow upon me the secrets of Shinpi Den, Kokiyu-Ho and the Reiji-Ho, the utmost secret in the Energy Science.*Shirushi and Jumon: These are the traditional first three symbols (Shirushi) of Reiki taught by Hawayo Takata along with the sacred sounds (jumon) that accompany them. The Jumon could also be used autonomously and with techniques similar to those of the Kotodama used in Morihei Ueshiba's Aikido. Enkaku Chiryo ho – the so-called distance treatment, even if Mikao Usui did not believe in "distance" at all: entering the correct mental state the treatment could be effected by perceiving instead of non-separateness and instantaneous interconnectedness in Oneness. The use of photographs as an aid to focusing was also permitted (and in this case it was called Shashin Chiryo ho) especially if the person to be treated was not directly known. Photography had spread widely in Japan since the end of the 19th century, and Hayashi himself dabbled in this art. Ketsueki Kokan ho – Blood replacement/cleansing in two forms:Hanshin Koketsu ho – partial cleaning of blood and Zenshin Koketsu ho – total cleansing of the bloodS. Chiryo ho – same technique as Nentatsu ho this time but with the addition of Shirushi and Jumon. Very similar to the mental treatment taught by Takata and with the possibility of working on negative mental states and habits to change. Jakikiri Joka ho – a technique for completely renewing the energy of inanimate objects, "cutting off" all previous energy residues.
